DEEPSPACE Integrates Chainlink VRF v2 to Connect Its Metaverse to Provable Randomness
In a previous announcement, the DEEPSPACE team announced our intent to integrate Chainlink Verifiable Randomness Function (VRF) within our decentralized app (dApp).
Today, we’re excited to announce that the Chainlink VRF integration is now live on BNB Chain mainnet, helping bring a transparent source of randomness to the DEEPSPACE metaverse. Specifically, DEEPSPACE has integrated Chainlink VRF v2, the new and improved version of the randomness solution that recently went live on BNB Chain. Chainlink VRF v2 is now being used to mint ship NFTs with verifiably random attributes and also to determine the likelihood that a ship will be burned during staking.
We selected Chainlink VRF v2 as our go-to random number generator (RNG) solution because it is a more configurable, easy-to-use randomness solution that allows any user to verify the integrity of the RNG. In the context of ship attributes and NFT burn chances, Chainlink VRF helps ensure that the randomness is generated and supplied on-chain in a tamper-proof manner — leading to provably fair and unbiased outcomes for users. Not even our development team can tamper with the process, nor can outside users predict results.
We’re looking for ways to use Chainlink VRF v2 within the DEEPSPACE ecosystem, including using it to randomize loot box rewards and different features for planet and land NFTs.
